KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for raw material planning for a manufacturing facility; including ingredients and packaging materials
  • Responsible for the overall management of Site/Business Capacity & Supply Chain Operating Strategies to drive service at optimized cost (including our suppliers)
  • Responsible for technical mastery as well as work process excellence for integrated planning, material supply management, and physical distribution
  • Responsible for driving results in missed cases, material logistics costs, inventory, material availability, MPSA, initiative delivery, IRA, and Warehouse-related safety and quality incidents
  • Participates in raw/packing materials supplier SLEAs, (on time delivery, quality, min runs, vendor inventory management or materials)
  • Works closely with central planning team to accurately forecast and plan material needs to suppliers using production planning inputs
  • Collaborate with DLx system (electronic system used to manage and direct site inventory) users and Finance & Accounting to drive out loss in logistics/warehouse systems
  • Work with other departments (Engineering, Quality, Operations, etc.) in establishing standardization of materials, supplies, inventories, vendors, etc.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Corporate Supply Chain Leaders, Customer Service Leaders, Marketing, Purchasing, NA Physical Distribution, Transportation, Co-Packers, etc.
  • Develop and implement contractual safe guards which clearly establish responsibility for the warranting of design, materials, workmanship, performance, and patents for purchased materials, goods, and services
  • Provide leadership and direction for the key performance measures in the Department (i.e.: PPV, Purchased Material Standard Costs, Inventory Investment, Vendor Quality Improvement process, Just-in-Time deliveries, utilization of fresh ingredients, and lower cost production)Responsible for coaching, career development, and performance management of integrated planners, lead analyst, and material warehouse technicians; lead objective setting and work plan process and have systemic 1:1 s with direct reports
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and work process improvement projects
  • Contribute to location s volume and profit growth by driving improvements in time, inventory and cost in the supply chains of the plant using lean manufacturing
  • Improve and standardize systems to deliver customer service results that meet or exceed business targets
  • Coach for all aspects of production and material planning (short term and long term) for the plant
  • Own scorecard results related to inventory management for materials and finished product
  • Responsible for managing the Warehouse, including, managing warehouse inventory, indirect spending, and customer outbound shipments (primarily direct loads to Wal-Mart
  • Coaches Warehouse Coordinator to deliver efficiency improvements in material storage and handling (Manage inbound material safety stock, storage, FIFO, remnant etc)
  • Manages new SKU set up, new material transitions: Starting Materials; Change Management; Material Handling; and Receiving / Storage / Transportation.
  • Owns the Site Internal Controls in Materials Management and Inventory, Receiving, and Shipping
  • SELECTION CRITERIA

    Education

  • A Bachelor s Degree is required; a Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business degree is preferred
  • Experience

  • At least 5 years supply chain and/or manufacturing experience is required
  • Previous People management experience is preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems to root cause
  • Demonstrate ability to be decisive, proactive and strategic in decision making
  • Demonstrate ability to lead a large organization to deliver business results
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively across organization boundaries and with diverse teams within a manufacturing environment; experience in peer to peer collaboration and managing upward through the organization
