The Nursing Assistant, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, is responsible for performing direct patient care related activities to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the hospital.


Licenses or Certifications

Current CPR certification

Education, Training, and Experience

Previous CNA experience preferred

Functions proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment

Machines, Equipment Used

Clinical equipment used for patient care, i.e. glucometers, bladder scanner, transfer boards, wheelchairs, shower chairs, assistive devices, call light system, and basic office equipment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling, and utilizing full range of body movement.

Ability to stand, sit, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, grasp, use fine finger movement.

Environmental Conditions

Indoors in climate controlled environment; patient care environment with potential exposure to unpleasant odors, blood and body fluids which may carry infection, infectious disease, and chemical and electrical hazards.
