Job Summary

The Business Analyst Manager will lead high priority Strategic Planning and Special Projects initiatives across the enterprise, working directly with members of the C-suite to transform the performance of Avantor as part of an in-house strategy and consulting team. Fast development path with high senior executive exposure, increasing levels of responsibility within Special Projects team, and/or opportunities to transition to a challenging role in a company line organization.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership - Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute key value creation (top and bottom line) and integration/transformation initiatives
  • Problem structuring Identify key issues, develop hypotheses and methodology to verify or refute them
  • Project management Clearly scope and track projects, develop and assign workstreams, maintain steady pace, and ensure reliable delivery
  • Data analysis Creatively obtain and vet data, develop and execute quantitative analyses with (potentially incomplete) data, cross-check results to identify potential inconsistencies or limitations
  • Business insights Understand business implications of observations, interviews, and analyses. Develop business strategies and recommendations accordingly
  • Communication Craft polished written communications and deliver oral communications of findings and recommendations in an effective and efficient manner
  • Influencing collaborate positively with project stakeholders to secure support and implement recommendations in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategy Develop business segment strategies, research markets & competitors, articulate value propositions, and identify growth opportunities
  • Management Assign tasks, coach, and develop other Strategy and Special Projects team members as needed, collaborate and learn from peers in a team environment
  • Support other corporate strategy responsibilities as needed, including Strategic Planning, Market Research, M&A, Competitor Benchmarking,
  • QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications):

  • High performer with 3-6 years of top-tier project-based professional experience (e.g.., consulting, investment banking, private equity, or management training program)
  • Experience in general management, market research, due diligence, commercial functions (sales, pricing, product management), data analytics, and/or supply chain
  • Bachelor s degree required. MBA or Advanced Professional Degrees preferred
  • DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong desire to learn from C-suite executives and have a real impact in the business early in his / her career.
  • Exceptional process and organizational skills with ability to mobilize change
  • Highly organized and reliable, keeps trains on time and knows how to create process drumbeat .
  • Structured thinker that can digest unstructured data and create /execute actionable plans.
  • Resourceful and tenacious.
  • Thinks as much about the how as about the what .
  • Gets things done.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual horsepower
  • Sound business insight; good nose for value, able to identify and prioritize key value creation levers.
  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, PPT, etc) skillset.
  • Ability to connect the dots and work with cross-functional teams to drive results.
  • Non-confrontational character, comfortable to be around.
  • High EQ, warm personality and ability to relate to people.
  • However, able and willing to tolerate and if necessary drive conflict when needed.
  • Knows how to get stuff done in ambiguous, executive settings.
  • High energy contributor, low maintenance, ambitious, entrepreneurial, with drive to create new ideas and advance new initiatives.
  • Ambitious in goal setting and career wants to grow and curious.
  • Strong oral and written communicator.
